New Delhi, August 9, 2023: On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's 'Quit India Movement,' a Tiranga Yatra was flagged off by former Union Minister and Vice Chairman Gandhi Darshan, Shri Vijay Goel on August 9, 2023, with the slogans Bhrastachar Bharat Chhoro, Garibi Bharat Chhoro, Jativaad Bharat Chhoro, Parivarvad Bharat Chhoro and Kura-Karkat Bharat Chhoro from Gandhi Darshan, Rajghat to Charti Lal Shri Vijay Goel Heritage Park near Red Fort.

More than 400 youth volunteers, students, school children representing NCC Cadets, Marching Bands from schools, children and elderly women from NGOS participated in the Tiranga Yatra which was received with a rousing welcome by the local people enroute. Addressing the gathering, Shri Vijay Goel said that while the British might have left India, even after 75 years of independence, the nation continues to grapple with issues like corruption, poverty, casteism, and cleanliness. Shri Vijay Goel went on to liken Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a modern-day Mahatma Gandhi, and said that under Narendra Modi’s leadership, the country is striving to tackle these challenges, and also adhering to the principles laid down by Mahatma Gandhi and serving the people as per his ideals. On this occasion, Shri Vijay Goel paid tribute to the freedom fighters who dedicated their lives for the nation. Shri Vijay Goel said that the 'Quit India Movement' led by Gandhi had shaken the foundation of the British Empire. He said that Mahatma Gandhi's call for 'Do or Die' united the nation during those critical times. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India today echoes the sentiment: Corruption Quit India, Dynastic Politics Quit India, and Nepotism Quit India. Shri Vijay Goel said that Prime Minister Modi has called upon the youth to understand Mahatma Gandhi's role in the freedom struggle and embrace his teachings for nation-building. Shri Vijay Goel said that the Tricolour flag represents the pride of the nation, symbolizing unity in diversity and development for all. He acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to this principle and his sincere efforts to lead the Nation together on this path. He reiterated that the purpose of the Tricolor march was to instill a sense of nationalism among the people and to remind them of the sacrifices made by our forefathers for a brighter future for the nation. Shri Vijay Goel said that the Tiranga Yatra holds a special place in the hearts of Indians, reflecting our determination to ensure a prosperous future for our country, as a tribute to the sacrifices made by our ancestors. Shri Vijay Goel also emphasised that this Yatra is in perfect sync with our Prime Minister's vision of an inclusive and prosperous India and his vision to fight social evils. The Yatra holds a special place in the hearts of Indians, reminding us of the sacrifices made by our forefathers to ensure a bright future for our nation.
